Glenn - Second Life video

…On April 1st 2006, my husband Glenn suddenly passed away. This year, on April 1st I decided to make my avatar look like him and spend some time observing him ‘alive’ in the only form I can have him alive today. I decided to shoot a little machinima of it to show it to his students and friends . Everyone misses Glenn. He was truly a great great man and the coolest husband one could wish for (ok ok, he did piss me off at times, but that’s the charm of being married, right?)…After this flight, I took ‘Glenn’ over to another sim and I ran into some girl who paused immediately after spotting me. I opened her profile. In her profile there was a nice quote from Rumi:- “Leaves tremble. Roots remain still.” This brought me comfort and was a great way to reunite with good memories.

Eshi,i guess the last thing you need it’s comforting words from a friend you made just a week or so.I just want to tell you my feeling of the video.

Your husband’s spirit is flying free…

Wow.

The power and uses of SecondLife stun me at times like this. I would never have thought of doing this, but I’m glad you could spend some time with good memories of your husband in such a very powerful and deep way.

This is the true transformative nature of virtual worlds; they allow us to grow and become more human.

This is the second post I’ve read today that reminded me of the possibilities too many of us neglect. Thank you.

Eshi, I am at loss for words. I am bawling my eyes out and imagining how you must have felt… flying in “Glen’s” virtual him.

This is the most amazing I have ever seen someone do. This is love beyond borders.

My deepest respect,
Spice~
